The Power of a Romantic Poet

Do you have a favorite poet, whose words makes you feel all dreamy afterwards? Every time I read a poem by Jalal al-Din Rumi, I always get so inspired and hopeful about what the future will bring. I guess it’s the power of great poetry, that has lived on for centuries, just by touching other people’s hearts.

Here are a few lines by Rumi (Imagine walking under a starry night sky, hearing one of his lines circulate in the endless universe):

***

“Raise your words, not your voice. It is rain that grows flowers, not thunder.”

“Love yourself completely, return to the root of the root of your soul.”

“Lovers don’t finally meet some, they are in each other all along.”

“If you want the moon, do not hide from the night. If you want a rose, do not run from the thorns. If you want love, do not hide from yourself.”

Do you have a poem that makes you feel inspired and empowered afterwards?

The Thorns of Love

Roses are often associated with love, more than any other flowers. They come in all colors and sizes. Some has thorns, and some has leaner stems. No rose is like one another, like no love is like another love. A song that almost made me tear up during one of my saddest days, was a song written and sung by Billy Joel, who also sang about the rose and its thorns. Enjoy it!

Vintage Bikes

I have a thing for vintage things, and bikes are not any exception, especially those with pretty baskets you can put fresh flowers in. My red bike just got stolen (sad face), so maybe it is time for me to get a new (old) one?

What kinds of bikes are you guys into?

Water lilies!

Looking at beautiful arts by Monet while listening to romantic music by Debussy is one of the most beautiful combinations that has ever existed. What can I say, talented people are often named Claude!

(“Water Lilies” by Claude Monet, “Arabesque” by Debussy)

Sweetheart trees

A walk 1

Another thing I love about spring is when the trees are getting greener and start to blossom. Here is a sweet song about trees and love.

But well, now is the time for me to head for school. Luckily, I will have the time to enjoy the nature on my way to school today. Hope you will all have a beautiful Tuesday!

A walk in the park

Happy Monday! The best thing about spring is the idyllic atmosphere it brings with all the blossoms. Yesterday, me and my family took a trip to the beautiful city parks, which literally exploded into colorful palettes. Feeling the sun in your skin is a powerful feeling.

A simple white dress with minimalistic details is really versatile and fits almost every occasion. You can wear it to school, to formal events and also weddings, or for a simple stroll down the emerald green lanes. It blends in with your surroundings perfectly, no matter where you are, and is a highly appreciated wardrobe basic. My favorite white dress is this wonderful one with black and white flares, making it look like a peplum top. It is actually sewn by my mother’s best friend, who is the greatest tailor I have ever met.

I wish you all the best and hope you will all have a wonderful day!

Let it snow

The days are getting brighter and the sky is getting clearer. Although February is the coldest month of the year (every person I know, including me, has to wear a winter jacket indoors), it is still the most romantic time. I’m literally waking up every morning to the sounds of the birds and the idyllic nature of the Swedish winter, a few things that have cheered me up during this cold period. Have a nice day everybody!
